of Nexus Rugs receive Best Collection/Modern honors at Domotex
Nexus Rugs became an overnight sensation at the Domotex Show held in Hannover, Germany this January 2012. During this four day Trade Show, which is the largest Carpet Fair in the world, Nexus Rugs established business ties with several dozen upscale carpet and furniture stores across 30 countries worldwide.
Nexus’s Jazz Collection took the award for Best Collection/Modern. Featuring beautifully colored Ikat inspired designs, these elegant, transitional rugs are hand crafted in the finest materials.
The artist and co-founder of Nexus, Vikram Kapoor was present to receive the award together with his long time friend and business partner David Samad. David and Malcolm Samad of Samad USA, formed the joint venture company Nexus Rugs with S.N. Kapoor in late 2011. Headquartered in Jaipur, India with a branch office in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the newly formed joint venture debuted in Halle 20, which showcased the world’s leading companies known for Modern Designs.
“We feel especially proud of winning one of the most prestigious Carpet Design Awards at Domotex for Best Modern Collection. It’s extremely gratifying to know that from thirty-one entries in the Best Modern category, Nexus was selected as the winner. Although we were the new kid on the block it didn’t take long to wow the international rug scene with gorgeous fresh new looks,” said David Samad. For more information visit www.nexusrugs.com.
About the company
Nexus Rugs combines into one powerful company the skills of a venerable hand-knotted rug manufacturer in India, the marketing and distribution force of a leading North American & European importer together with their collective and enviable design capabilities. The logic behind this Samad / S. N. Kapoor joint venture is simple: as access to skilled weavers in India becomes more constrained, rug importers require absolutely reliable sources. By collaborating, the strengths of two great firms combine to benefit both companies, as well as rug retailers and their clients. The fullest cooperation and focus is now guaranteed in developing and producing fine decorative carpet collections and directing products to optimum consumer markets. In this way, sensibilities honed through generations of experience support mutual cooperation, shared vision, and capacities to respond quickly to shifting market needs.
