HIGH POINT, NC – New exhibitors and designer collections add to the incredible array of products available at historic Market Square and the Suites at Market Square for the Spring High Point Market, April 22-26, 2017.

“The Suites at Market Square (SAMS) is the exclusive home for temporaries at High Point Market. It’s THE place to find one-of-a-kind products and resources, and to be awed and inspired,” says Julie Messner, Senior Vice President of Furniture and Home Décor Leasing for International Market Centers (IMC). “And the iconic Market Square features five floors encompassing 430,000 square feet of higher-end furniture, rugs, wall décor and home accents. With a wealth of designer-friendly options, it’s a top destination for every market-goer.”

This spring at Market Square, look for new furniture collections from David Phoenix for Hickory Chair and Jeffrey Bilhuber for Henredon. In addition, Capel Rugs, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, recently inked a partnership with longtime New York interior designer Anthony Baratta. Set for launch in October during High Point Market, Baratta’s initial line for Capel will include at least four collections covering a range of styles, constructions and price points. This brings Capel licensed collections to six – the others are Biltmore, CocoCozy, Genevieve Gorder, Kevin O’Brien, and Williamsburg.

In Memoriam: Richard Rehl

By Michael Christie

It is with great personal sadness I write the following…

The rug world lost a luminary on February 26, 2017 when Richard Rehl of Aubry Angelo in Minneapolis, MN passed away. Mr. Rehl was a well respected dealer widely known for his always fashionable personal and professional taste, his exceptional eye for carpets and quality and for his infectious smile.

Suzanne Slanga, Richard’s longtime associate at Aubry Angelo and personal friend said, "He loved the people and this industry so much."

Of remarkable note for its rarity in this day and age, Richard was fondly remembered by several colleagues for the fact he still painted his original carpet designs – of which there are many – by hand.
