United Weavers of America has named industry veterans Joe Barkley and Chris Papa as Vice President of Sales andSales Manager of National Accounts respectively, according to Wasim Abu Hadba, president.
In his new position, Barkley will lead, manage, and direct all Sales efforts for United Weavers of America including the direction and development of the Management and Sales Team, National Accounts, and E-commerce Sales. Mr. Barkley will be based out of United Weavers’ Dalton, GA facility and report directly to Wasim Abu Hadba.
Barkley is a veteran industry executive with over 30 years in the decorative flooring industry. Earlier Barkley served in executive, sales and marketing assignments at such companies as Kaleen, Shaw, and Milliken. “Joe’s track record of success, leadership, along with his positive “can-do attitude” make him an ideal fit to the United Weavers Leadership Team,” said Wasim Abu Hadba.
Chris Papa will head Sales for National Accounts and will report directly to Joe Barkley, Vice President of Sales. He will be based in Minneapolis.
Papa, an Economics graduate from Rutgers University is a Home Fashions expert with over thirty-year experience as a buyer and sales executive. Papa was most recently Vice President of Sales at Carpet Art Deco and prior to that, he was the Vice President of Midwest Sales at Mohawk Industries. Additionally, Papa was an award-winning and often recognized successful buyer at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Target, and JC Penney.
“Chris’ extensive experience, particularly with National Accounts, will be a tremendous asset for United Weavers,” said Joe Barkley. “He is an excellent fit to our team.”
