Oriental Weavers, the world’s largest manufacturer of power loomed rugs, announces the release of their 2019-2020 Rug Catalog just in time for the summer market and the fall selling season.
Proudly dedicated exclusively to the rug category, the company’s catalog is over 500 pages and incorporates more than 150 new introductions comprised of 12 new collections.
The printed catalog is available and shipping to retail partners currently and an innovative digital version will be available in the coming weeks that allows the user to zoom into each rug and also quickly see additional photography featuring more detailed imagery and lifestyle room scenes.
The catalog opens with five color-centric trends accompanied by eight carefully selected rugs across all genres and multiple constructions that represent each trend. A new feature to the catalog is the idea of compatibility which offers multiple rugs in various collections that work together to achieve an overall cohesive look in any living space. Keeping with tradition, highlighted are the top 50 best sellers along with the top five rugs from each of the 102 collections showcased, as well as rug and rug pad merchandising displays. Throughout the new catalog, bold graphic logos provide quick identification of new products and line extensions, made in the USA, and indoor/outdoor collections.
When it comes to the overall design of the catalog — the bigger and bolder, the better. The inspiration for this year’s catalog is collaging new lifestyle photography, styled shots and detailed photos into one overall image to visually tell the story of the collection. By artfully collaging various images together, the consumer has a better understanding of the entire collection, from the texture of the pile to the intricacy of weaves and variation of depth, as well as the vibrant colors. The combination of rug images in a grid layout, bold block typography and attention-grabbing pops of purple, stretches the boundaries of how consumers view rugs in a printed catalog.
