Effective December 31, 2020, Michael Christie has stepped down as Editor of Rug Insider Magazine. The Winter 2021 Issue, ‘Behold The Phoenix,’ is Christie’s final as Editor.
Christie began his work with Rug Insider in 2015 as a contributor, prior to assuming Editorship of the magazine in 2017. During his time as editor he was integral to the major rebranding efforts of the print magazine as well as the industry news driven website ruginsider.com.
“I wish Michael the best on his future endeavors. Working with him over the past few years has been a pleasure. His passion for rugs, specifically modern designs, is infectious,” states Peter Woodaman, Publisher of Rug Insider Magazine.
“Over the course of my time at Rug Insider I was privileged to work not only with great in-house people, but also with a veritable who’s who of the rug industry,’’ says Christie. “The opportunity to work in this environment, to expand my own horizons, to view the ever-changing rug trade from an establishment media perspective is something I am very grateful for.”
Fans of Christie’s contributions to Rug Insider need not worry however. The writer, widely known as "The Ruggist” will remain a welcome contributor to future issues of Rug Insider Magazine.
Rug Insider Spring 2021 edition marks the 100th issue of the venerable trade publication, denoting 25 years of providing award-winning coverage of the rug and carpet trade.
