Capel Rugs is rolling out a large assortment of new rugs in the Capel Rugs showroom from April 2 to 6 at the April High Point Market in Market Square, Space 112. The new rugs represent a wide range of constructions, styles, and price points, and offerings include fresh braids, updated Oushak and Gabbeh patterns, and much more. The biggest introduction that Capel has made in recent years, these new rugs are designed to give retailers the stylish, high-value products they need to refresh their floors and drive traffic and business back to stores.

Leading floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison introduces colorful flatweave, shag and eclectic area rugs for New York Home Fashions Market, as well as global-inspired accent rugs. Nourison Easy Care is a new flatweave indoor-outdoor collection, with a softly textured high-low pattern in durable low-shed fibers, in an assortment of colors including teal, coral, denim and neutrals. Lush Shag features a plush soft pile in a retro blend of twisted and individual yarns that cast a slight sheen, in a range of solid colors including blush, sage, denim and neutrals. Thalia is also a new collection, featuring modern and eclectic designs in rust, green, grey, beige and ivory multicolor tones.

The High Point Market Authority announces the lineup of design tastemakers for its Spring Market Instagram Takeover series. Scheduled for each day of Spring Market, April 2-6, the takeover will provide insights into each participant’s journey through Market. Throughout their selected day, each influencer will share various components of their time in High Point, including visited showrooms, products favorites, and connections they’ve made.

Rug importer and manufacturer Shalom Brothers Inc., which was previously based in New York City for 45 years, recently moved into a new 4,500-square-foot
showroom located at 145 Industrial Drive, Little Ferry, New Jersey.  The new showroom is close to Secaucus, NJ, and a short distance from New York City.

“We’re growing and we didn’t think Manhattan would have been able to give us that kind of growth,” says Rafi Amirian, vice president of Shalom Brothers.
“Now we have loading docks and it’s much easier to drop-ship. We’re seeing tremendous growth in our online business, and it just makes sense to move where we can drop-ship easier.”

The popular and well-tracked Center Stage area, located central to High Point’s Market District, will reset this Spring Market as a pop-up park open to all attendees. Offering a connection point for networking, seating areas for quick breaks between showroom visits, and various programming opportunities, the space will open on Friday, April 1. Home to a number of activations throughout the years, Center Stage is a large outdoor area in between Showplace and the Transportation Terminal. It is historically well-known for Saturday and Sunday evening concerts but has also hosted daytime programming such as Sustainability Stories, Design Oasis, and Crypton Patio, among others.

Kalaty Rug Corporation announces that its latest licensed area rug series, katie merz x Kalaty, will launch at the upcoming April High Point Market at the company’s IHFC showroom (G-369). Kalaty is collaborating with Katie Merz, renowned Brooklyn-born-and-based mural artist, to produce what the company states will be a growing series of area rug collections based on her dynamic, innovative artwork, which offers consumers a new way of bringing art into their homes and onto their floors.

High Point Market’s 2022 Style Spotters are gearing up for an active Spring Market, April 2-6, with a full slate of daily Hot Spot Tours, the popular Style Spotters LIVE! event, and, of course, their quintessential product spotting within showrooms throughout the Market district. The full team of 2022 Style Spotters will be in High Point to act as the industry’s trend-setting guides, scouring the Market’s buildings and showrooms to highlight the top new styles this spring. They will begin early, spotting 25 favorite products each, then adding their selections to curated digital galleries on the Style Spotters hub page, highpointmarket.org/products-and-trends/style-spotters.
