Capel Rugs is adding three fashion-forward new collections to its popular Genevieve Gorder line of licensed rugs at the winter markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Two of the collections feature bold contemporary patterns that take the current style assortment of the Genevieve Gorder line in a new, more modern direction.

"This season, I wanted to play with sculptural forms a bit," Gorder says. "Simplicity is something I consistently express through patterns on my rugs and this season is no exception, but the forms also are a bit more organic, more graphic and definitely a bit more feminine. I am celebrating the curve in every way."

Leading the way, Intersection is a bold geometric design in tufted wool. Sporting wide bands of related colors intersecting in a creative zigzag-like pattern, Intersection is offered in three on-trend colorways -- storm (pictured above), a mix of black, charcoal and grey tones; sand, a mix of earthy browns; and slate, a mix of crisp blues, white and grey. Sourced from India, a 5' x 8' model may retail for $449.

Also bringing a fresh touch of contemporary to the Genevieve Gorder line for Capel Rugs is Canyon. Organic and inviting, Canyon combines three curvaceous bands of color in a nature-inspired pattern. Made in India of tufted wool, Canyon is available in sand (shown above) and storm colorways. A 5' x 8' model may retail for $449.

Inspired by a timeless Art Nouveau design Gorder created for Tempaper, a wall covering licensing partner, Brass Belly features rows of overlapping scallop shapes presented in duos of harmonious tones. Three colorways are available -- storm (a blend of grey and charcoal), stone (rich brown tones) and ocean (blues and greens, pictured in lede image). Constructed in India, Brass Belly is made of space-dyed yarns for extra texture.

Gorder will be visiting the Capel Rugs showroom on Thursday, January 10 to meet with retailers.

"Having Genevieve at market with us is always a cause for celebration, since our customers love spending time with her," said Cameron Capel, president -- sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. "We are so excited about the latest additions to her rug program, and we can't wait for her to share these innovative designs with our retailers and other buyers."

At the Atlanta International Area Rug Market being held January 9 to 13, Capel Rugs will be exhibiting in AmericasMart Building 1, space 3-D-1. At the Las Vegas Market taking place January 27 to 31, Capel Rugs will exhibit in World Market Center Space A-133.

Founder and director of the Genevieve Gorder brand, Gorder is a television host and producer, product designer, contributing author and global brand ambassador for home design and human rights. She has appeared and been featured in more than 20 lifestyle shows around the world and currently appears on Netflix, HGTV, Sony Channel Asia and The Design Network, in addition to being a regular contributor on the "Rachel Ray Show." A two-time Emmy nominee, Gorder has developed multiple lifestyle colllections for the home -- from rugs, textiles, wallpaper and stationary to a full-line of furniture and décor created for The Land of Nod. Her rug licensing program with Capel Rugs was launched in 2011.

"Success is a team effort," said Gorder about the longevity of the Capel Rugs program. "Without the authentic and genuine relationship between the Capel family and myself, my design efforts don't have a chance. When you all root for each other and trust each other, everyone wins. And that's just what keep happening every season -- they let me be me."

Gorder's designs come from a very soulful place, she added. "My products always encompass a sense of ancestry, story, faraway lands or curiosity. Anyone can make something pretty, but not everyone can make something that has depth. Depth is my delight!"

During the Atlanta market, Gorder will participate in a panel discussion about licensing and creating win-win partnerships called "Licensing Demystified." The session will take place on Friday, January 11 at 2 p.m. in Building 1, Floor 14, of AmericasMart. Jane Dagmi, editor in chief of Designers Today, will moderate the discussion, which will include Denise McGaha of Denise McGaha Interiors, on behalf of Design Legacy, and Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke of Madcap Cottage, on behalf of Port 68.
