Kalaty Rug Corporation won one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, the America’s Magnificent Carpet Award (AMCA), which was presented at a gala ceremony during the International Area Rug Market in Atlanta earlier this month. Kalaty won for one of its heirloom-quality hand-knotted rug designs from the contemporary Juno Collection. The winning rug, JN-079, won in the hand-knotted category for rugs retailing between $50 and $100 per square foot.
Like a modern abstract work of art, JN-079 beautifully incorporates today’s highly sought-after fashion colors including explosive fashion-forward shades of blue, purple, pink, red, gray and yellow. Hand-knotted entirely of Silkette™, Kalaty’s trademarked proprietary viscose yarns, the rug is further enhanced by intricate hand carving for dramatic dimensional textural effects.
